Dahab is an Egyptian tourist city that belongs to the South Sinai Governorate and is located on the Gulf of Aqaba, about 100 km from the city of Sharm el-Sheikh and 87 km from the city of Nuweiba. It was named after the color of its golden sand. The city is divided into two parts, the first is located in the south and is called the village of Al-Asla and is famous for its simple Bedouin life, and the second section is located in the north and is the spirit and pulse of the city because it includes commercial markets and recreational places. The city is famous for its pristine beaches and natural diving sites rich in coral reefs.
The city includes many prominent tourist places, which are represented in the Ras Abu Galum area, which is a nature reserve and diving area, the Al-Bulhol area, which is one of the world-famous diving sites, the Canyon area, which is one of the excellent diving areas, and the Al-Asla area, which is an area in which approximately 75% of the residents live. The city’s population is divided into three areas: (Mubarak City, Al-Zarnouk, and Al-Asla), Coral Island towards the Palestinian border, where the remains of a historic fortress built by the Crusaders are located, Al-Milil area, a road parallel to the coastal road that includes some small hotels, cafeterias and houses, Al-Masbat area, which is the tourist commercial area
The main city in the city and starts with Al-Fanar Street and then Al-Masbat Bay and includes a large group of shops, diving clubs, cafes, camps and hotels. The Al-Mashraba area includes a large number of cafeterias and diving centers. It also includes the only monument there, which is Tell Al-Mashraba, which is a private storehouse for one of the old ports. The area of Dahab city includes government agencies And the major hotels, the Wadi Qani area, which is an area that represents the future urban expansion of the city, as it includes a large group of hotels and service complexes. Residential areas, in addition to the Lighthouse, Whale Garden and Al Waha areas. Dahab includes two bays, Laguna or Ghazala, which is characterized by the presence of the only sandy beach in the city, and Al-Qura, which is located in the center of the city, in addition to the resorts along its shores that merge with the surrounding nature with kiosks made of wood and palm leaves prepared for the accommodation of tourists.
